TIDA Cargo Skills & Liability Skills Seminars

The TIDA Cargo Skills & Liability Skills Seminars (prior to 2025 called TIDA Cargo & Skills Course Seminars) is the industry's annual event specifically catering to new motor carriers, trucking insurers, defense attorneys and claims servicing company professionals. 

The Cargo Skills Seminar is a one-day event designed to educate attendees on how to recognize, investigate and defend claims and lawsuits that arise from the loss or damage to goods and to manage situations following a cargo claim against a carrier or insured.

The Liability Skills Seminar is a two-day event following the Cargo Skills Seminar designed to teach attendees critical thinking skills with real-world scenarios and key strategies in all areas for the successful handling of trucking claims. Attendees have the option to attend one or both seminars.

Cargo Skills & Liability Skills Seminars take place annually in late March-early April. Registration and sponsorship opens winter. View more upcoming seminars.

The 2025 TIDA Cargo Skills & Liability Skills Seminars will be held April 1-3 at the Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. Registration opens the week of December 15, 2024.

SCHOLARSHIPS - now accepting 2025 applications through december 16, 2024!

TIDA offers five (5) scholarships for the Cargo Skills Seminar and five (5) scholarships for the Liability Skills Seminar.Applicants must be a TIDA Industry Trucking or Insurance Member in good standing. Scholarships include:

  • One (1) complimentary Cargo Skills or Liability Skills Seminar registration fee - value of $400+
  • Up to $300.00 in travel reimbursement
  • One (1) hotel night at the TIDA group rate at the host hotel (Two (2) nights for Liability Skills Seminar Scholarships)
