Cargo Seminar

Complementing the broader Annual Fall Seminar, TIDA’s Cargo Committee is primarily responsible for organizing and offering an annual one-day seminar in early April targeting specific issues related to motor truck cargo claims and litigation, with specific focus on emergent legal trends, recent case law and statutory changes affecting the trucking industry, logistics companies, intermediaries and intermodal interests. The agenda for the annual cargo seminar changes each year and seeks to focus on emerging trends as well as requests and feedback from TIDA members. Providing instruction, guidance and insight, the Cargo Committee seeks to inform and educate TIDA members on strategies to best respond to cargo claims and litigation and to counsel industry clients on how to avoid and mitigate future claims and lawsuits. The Cargo Committee fosters skills necessary to vigorously and fairly defend cases once filed, coaching industry personnel and defense counsel on effective defense strategies to be used during a lawsuit’s investigation, discovery, negotiation and trial phases. In addition to the annual Cargo Claims Seminar, the committee shall, when asked by the Annual Seminar organizers, offer and present cargo-related topics at the Annual Seminar.
